The purpose of this role is to help provide a broad, high-quality learning programme at Kew Gardens, which spans all levels of education and includes a very successful continuing professional development programme for teachers and technicians. Supporting the development and implementation of innovative approaches to learning, you will supervise approximately 45 school volunteers and represent the organisation at external meetings and events,

A degree, or equivalent, is essential (preferably in a related subject such as Biology, Education or the Environment) and you will have experience of teaching or delivering education programmes. An understanding of plant science, natural history, conservation and learning environments is required and you will have experience of child health and safety and welfare. You will also have an up-to-date knowledge and awareness of the national curriculum and ideally have a teaching qualification.

With excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills, you must be able to work with a wide range of ages and abilities.

The post holder will be subject to a CRB Disclosure check.

Salary is £23,387 per annum pro rata and benefits include 30 days holiday per year, a choice of pensions, a flexible benefits scheme as well as a great working environment.
